An overview of the emergence of recycling
Initiated the idea of recycling during World War I and II, where countries suffer from severe shortages of some basic materials such as rubber, which paid to collect such waste materials for reuse. After years recycling has become one of the most important methods used in the management of solid waste; for the many environmental benefits of this method. For many years, was the direct recycling by producers of waste materials (scrap) is the primary form of recycling, but with the beginning of nineties the emphasis is on re - recycling non-direct, which means the manufacture of waste materials to make other products based on the same raw material, such as: recycling of paper, cardboard, plastic and metal, particularly aluminum and other materials that are recycled in the current period. As the growing interest in environmental issues has been reflected through programs and awareness campaigns by environmental groups interested in the environment, there was a distinct interest in the subject of recycling among school students, housewives and members of environmental associations, which are the following: Friends of the Environment of Jordan, Jordanian Environment Society, the Royal Society for the Protection of Nature and the Association of Arab women as well as a number of actors in the private sector, notably the modern recycling company.

What is recycling?
Recycling (Recycling): is the process of recycling and the use of waste: waste, whether domestic or industrial or agricultural, for example, that it is possible to say that we recycle the old newspapers to cardboard plates, and re-manufacture old cans to make new cans, and re-manufacturing of the scrap metal for the new alloys can be used in the manufacture of different products, and the goal of reuse is to reduce the volume of such waste and thus reduce the accumulation in the environment, and this operation is carried out through the classification and separation of waste on the basis of raw materials in them and then re-manufacture of the end of each article .

Why are we recycling?

It will be apparent to us through this study some of the facts which show the importance of recycling for the environment as it reduces the volume of waste and thus reduce the growth of cancerous tissue in the volume of waste and reduce the growing pressure on natural resources and environment and reducing energy and water Almsthlktin in the manufacture of products from primary raw materials, where we will show some of these facts are as follows:
The role of recycling in the provision of energy:
Recycling aluminum provides 95% of energy consumption in the event will be the manufacture of aluminum from the original raw materials.

the amount of waste resulting from mining (mining waste), which result from the manufacture of one ton of glass raw materials from the initial estimated 174.1824 kg.
the use of recycled glass by 50%, it reduces the volume of waste created by 75%.
